Construction Birthday Party
Caution: Fun times ahead!
The problem with going big on the first birthday party is that you set yourself up for the second. "Wow, you must have something big planned for his second birthday party!!" ..."Erm, uh huh, Surrrrrre I do!"
When Preston turned two, I had just had a baby, I was recovering from lots of back issues and, I was not physically or mentally capable of throwing an amazing birthday party. Honestly, I wasn't. Thank God for Amazon Prime and pizza delivery.
Color is an amazing (read: easy!) way to unite a space. Lots of yellow and orange helped me pull off an effortless party! ...and, we had a TON of trucks in the house that I used for decorations.
Some construction vests and hard hats in a basket – a fun and affordable way for the kids to play dress up...
These dirt pudding cups with gummy worms were easy and the kids loved them.
We filled a big Tonka truck with mandarin oranges for a healthy snack.
And, since... let's face it, the kids didn't come for the oranges! A super simple candy bar in... you guessed... orange and yellow!
The real show stopper was this cake!! How cute is the cake by Bluebird Confections!?!
I love these Construction Cone Cups that we ordered from Birthday Express. And I just went with a simple yellow paper favor bag, filled with Trucks, Construction Stickers and candy.
I ordered these adorable dump truck lollipops from Etsy.
Someone was pretty happy...
