Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in party planning, home renovation, organization and art. Hope you have a nice stay!

Superhero Birthday Party

Superhero Birthday Party

Extra! Extra! Calling All Superheroes!

With age four/five came the superheroes. Lots of superheroes!

Our cape closet was filled with adorable capes from Etsy. There were lots of every kind of superhero so no one would be without the cape they wanted (I know how that goes!!) We had... Superman, Batman, Spiderman, Green Lantern, Flash, Robin, Captain America, Batgirl, Pink Superman, Wonder Woman, Spidergirl, Iron Man, Hulk and even a turquoise and silver snowflake Frozen cape for our princess superheroes!

There was also a basket of paper superhero masks in our cape closet and a photo booth background for all of the superhero's photo ops. I used a blue plastic table cloth (perfectionists beware—the lines make me absolutely insane—I wish I would have hung some fabric instead) and painted some boxes black and glued on different sized yellow paper squares for windows.

Every superhero needs a secret phone booth for quick changes.

And what do you eat at a Superhero Birthday Party?? Heros (Heroes, sorry!!!) obviously!!! We ordered a few platters of sandwiches, some macaroni and cheese and potato salad.

The kids could not wait to dig into this Captain America fruit platter with raspberries, marshmallows, strawberries and blueberries. There was also a yummy Superman fruit platter with strawberries and pineapple, but—apparently—I didn't take a picture!!

There were adorable little boxes filled with POP!corn...

The kids loved these edible superhero cupcake toppers from Inscribing Lives.

Clawson Cookies made us these adorable superhero sugar cookies and they tasted amazing too!

Sweets Explosion! There was a candy bar fit for any superhero looking for a sugar rush!

Superhero Birthday Party Candy Table

We played a couple of games as well. I bought rolls of crepe paper and had a contest to see who could wrap up a parent/adult the fastest. The other game was called "Diffuse the Bomb." I stuffed prizes inside of black balloons and the kids had to pop them all as fast as possible to get the prizes.

Of course these things never play out exactly as you have planned. There may or may not have been some crying, but in the end everyone got toys and had fun. Jeez.

All of the kids with their capes!

I found these cute dollar sign favor bags.

The boys wore their Junk Food Superhero T's to get in the party spirit. And that's a baby bump on me, not just too many cookies. Ok... maybe it's too many cookies AND a baby bump! ;) TBD August 2015!!
