Pantry Dreams
This is my happy place.
Behold, in all it's labeled glory.
It's a sickness. But, it's a sickness that I am okay with. Really. I don't expect your pantry to look like this... and sometimes mine doesn't either.
Our laundry used to be off of the kitchen and I longed for a pantry. Somewhere where all of my little friends (containers) could live. I pinned. I plotted. I twisted my husband's arm.
I wanted to be sure that we had a place for all of the small kitchen appliances (except the toaster oven... I left that out in the actual kitchen.) The coffee maker, the Keurig (I know, I'm a terrible person), the cappuccino maker (which now has a broken frothing wand after 2 uses. Grumble, Grumble.), the KitchenAid stand mixer, the juicer... you get the idea. Now it all lives in this neat little place in the pantry!
One of the things that makes me crazy in the kitchen is all of the stuff people leave all over the counter tops... Half a loaf of bread, box of donuts, bag of bagels (wow, we should lay off the carbs, huh!?) bananas, etc. These baskets were a nice way to corral all of that extra stuff.
A large lazy Susan helps corral all of the miscellaneous bottles so they are easy to access. The vertcal storage helps with bags, cutting board and cookie sheet storage.
Shallow pull-out drawers are great for canned goods, peanut butter, salsa, etc.
I used some round labels and magnetic sheets to create these magnetic labels. I do realize (honestly, I do) it seems a little OCD, but it's really easy to keep up. We generally use the same labels over and over. I keep the unused ones in a little container. It also helps me know what I need to stock up on.
Now, all that is left is to find an amazing door. I am looking for a two panel door with glass on top, sort of like an old classroom door.
